From Pennsylvania to Global Quality

My name is Elisha, founder of Kovapet.

My journey began while studying Studio Art at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA (Class of 2020). It was there, visiting local shelters in Erie, that I realized how much comfort means to our pets.

The Global Partnership

After graduating, I combined my design background with world-class manufacturing. I established our operations in Ningbo, a global hub for textile craftsmanship, to build the specific orthopedic structures I envisioned.

This cross-border approach allows us to maintain American design standards while ensuring direct-from-manufacturer quality control.

The "Kova" Philosophy

I set out to design our flagship product: a bed built with a supportive foam base, durable materials, and a fully washable cover.

As I was sketching, I jotted down a name: Kovapet.

It wasn't until later, by a complete accident, that I discovered what "Kova" means in Finnish.

It means "hard," "tough," and "strong."

It was a sign. It was the perfect, single-word description of my new bed. No more soft, lumpy pillows that fail. We were going to build something Kova—something strong, supportive, and tough enough to last.

 

More Than Just a Bed

The bed was our core, but it was just the beginning.

I soon realized this "Kova Philosophy"—this commitment to strong, durable, and thoughtfully designed solutions—was missing from everything in a pet's life.

So, we expanded our product line, applying that same artistic intention and "Kova" standard to every item.
